Rev. Damien Wee, Associate Pastor SAINT Damien! S-A-I-N-T Damien! Finally! From the time I was old enough to learn about the life of the man whom I was named after, I have been praying for Blessed Damien of Molokai to be made a saint.

As I sat in St. Peter's Square on the morning of October 11, 2009, with an estimated 40,000 others and 10,000 more people in St. Peter's Basilica, I rejoiced when our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI declared Fr. Damien of Molokai a saint! Now, he was officially a saint. The priest who gave his entire life to help lepers, outcasts of society, on an island of Molokai, Hawaii, eventually contracting leprosy himself, had now been elevated to sainthood.    more...
